demo week bath pics

Here are some new pics I loaded into the project house photo set. Demoing this bathroom totally opened it up and revealed some of the original grandeur. I'm really interested if anyone has ever heard about scoring plaster like that. Never seen it, but it's pretty cool.

nursery done

The nursery has finally come full circle. Well almost.. I still need to replace the sash cords and refinish the doors, but for all intents & purposes we're calling this one "done". If you recall from another post, I decided against trying to refinish down to the wood in this room (sorry stuccohouse). In it's place is some white trim against a light yellow-tan color (I forget the name). I think it came out looking really good, so at least one bedroom is presentable.

downtown revival

Sometimes I work from home and like to stroll on downtown to grab a bite for lunch. On these little forays I occasionally bring my camera to document for my own amusement the changing face of the city's downtown. There are some very good things happening downtown and I just thought I'd start with a few humble pics.

While the pictures you see here happened several weeks ago, it feels like only yesterday. Most of the demo work was upstairs, the downstairs bath, and the rear porch. Suffice to say, the feel of the house was much more inviting. Check back often as I'll be updating it as time allows and drop me a line now & again so I know you stopped by.. :)

Finally got some pics together of the project house before we started work on this bad boy. Lots of shag carpeting, dropped ceilings, and 60s wood paneling to go around. Since there's so many pics, I won't clutter up a single post and just put it in my photostream. Enjoy!
