Well, I thought I would never get to this post, but the rear windows on the first floor of the house are done. Yay! I wonder if Mr. McBroom would approve?
Those windows look great, especially in the second photo when you can look close up at the unfinished windows upstairs. We plan to start work on our windows next spring, but we will need contractor help for that. Many rotted sills and lintels...
I'm really liking your color choices here; the dark is a nice contrast to the lighter brick. Good work! So good I'd let you do my windows too... making a trip to ND soon?
Andrea/Nate?, Thanks for the kind words. This whole paint thing had me paranoid about picking the right colors for a while. In the end, I think we made a great choice too.
There were 2 layers of paint on the windows. A dark choclate brown which was the original color and that creamy yellow. That was one thing I was going for was a nice contrast between the lighter brick and some rich, deep colors. So yes, it's a little jazzed up from past paint schemes, but I think they work well.
It was some tough work, but soo worth it. Sorry Nate, don't think I'm headed out to fargo any time soon.. :)
